Nizwa Fort & Souk

Nizwa was once the capital of Oman and remains the soul of its interior — a city of scholars, silversmiths, and warriors. The iconic Nizwa Fort, with its massive 40-meter circular tower, is the most visited historic monument in the country. The adjacent traditional souk is one of the few authentic craft markets in the Gulf still selling locally made silverwork, pottery, and khanjars (traditional Omani daggers) rather than imports.
